"...that HOUSE must stand on top of the hill..." (M.K. Čiurlionis).

The object is created as a natural extension of Tauras Hill as a PUBLIC SPACE, with its significance and development. The location of the object in the plot immediately replicates the environmental and local features. The orientation of the building in space, the opening of the facades to the context, the possibilities to view the city from different angles and heights - the functional approach of the roof terrace - emphasize the democracy, openness and accessibility of the building solution.

The urban volume composition is gradually increased from the first, one-of-a-kind contact with the ground, progressively spiraling up to the climax, the main entry point, and completing the climax and event space on the roof of the building. The urban composition is based on the traditions of Vilnius city formation: intuitive sense of place, artistic perception of directions of "moving" the surrounding spaces, sensitive reaction to the existing context.

We conceive of the Nation's House as a continuous functional PUBLIC SPACE closely integrated into the fabric of the city. It is a solution that simultaneously expresses the boundary and the connection between nature and the anthropogenic environment. The idea of a spiraling movement toward the sky expresses many of the profound meanings required for the expression of the House of Nation. It is a symbol of growth, progress, progress, future. These associations are close to the vision of dream pursuit in folklore (climbing the glass hill, tradition of mounds and castles, beans growing up to the clouds, etc.), romantic M.K. Motifs of Čiurlionis paintings and so on.
